In addition to our main event, HOVAC club members organise a range of activities that include:

Rally Forum / Auction Night – Guests included Nicky Grist, Howard Davies, Steve Davies, Graham Elsmore and Nik Elsmore. Items auctioned included: a signed print of Hannu Mikkola in full rally action; WRC team clothing and merchandise – caps, T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and bags; plus sundries such as FIA approved seat belts, oil and the famous Nicky Grist / Colin McRae timecard from Australia. All proceeds from this event went to the Michael (Beef) Park Fund.

Rally Forum – 2008 saw the first discrete rally forum, and it was a huge success. Guest speakers were: Rally Sport owner and editor Keith Rogers; Martin Leonard, author of the famous "Epynt Book"; Derek Tucker (Navigator); Howard Davies, Welsh Road Rally Champion 1976 and Peter Watts, Welsh Road Rally Champion 1982 and BTRDA Champion whilst navigating for Steve Davies. Guest compares Roger (Big Rog) Holder and Chris (Fatty) Evans from Blackwood and District Motor Club helped to make the night both memorable and humorous. A full club house rewarded all Dave Howell’s hard work in organising such an entertaining and informative night where old friends and competitors were brought together, often after several years apart.

Fantasy Rally – this requires individuals or teams to calculate WRC individual and team positions for every round or the WRC. Hotly contested over the year, prizes are awarded at every round, with the grand finale deciding the overall winners in December.

Blindfold Driving – this is a popular event involving a navigator shouting instructions at a blindfolded driver. The driver has to follow a circuit inside the rally club, wearing a car made from cardboard designed and constructed by Dave Howells.

Navigational Table Top Rallies – especially popular amongst less experienced navigators and junior members, Dave Howells, Byron Jones and young James Morgan all have fun setting routes for rallies that never leave the club. Competitors are given route instructions and have to plot a rally route, timed against the clock and marked for accuracy to decide the winner.

Navigational Exercises – often following a Table Top Rally, teams follow the prepared route.

Quizzes – enter at your peril, especially if set by Dave Howells or Dale Bowen. Information taken from a range of recent and historic sources test your motorsport knowledge to the limits.

Curry Nights and Raffles – the raffle is a regular occurrence thanks to Carolyn Barry, Marcia Davies with excellent prizes for the lucky winners. Carolyn and Marcia also regularly organises a curry night, and the Old Brewery Club are happy to sell you a drink to wash it down.

Annually we host an Awards Ceremony and a Christmas Dinner and Disco.
